Electrical Engineer

This role functions in an engineering capacity, performing routine aspects of engineering assignments under close supervision. The position requires the application of basic engineering principles to complete project assignments, following prescribed techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and company policies and procedures.
• Support the quality program and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contribute to the preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
• Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Share information with others as requested and coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
• Focus on the needs of internal clients while gaining an understanding of external clients" main interests and drivers.
• Provide support to business development or pursuit.
• Up to 25% travel may be required to support job functions.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge in electrical engineering and electrical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• 0-1 years of experience in Distribution.
• Understanding of basic Distribution System design concepts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Perform initial technical screens and review application packages for completeness and accuracy.
• Ability to compare submitted documentation against utility databases.
• Ability to independently develop written communication and facilitate coordination with team members and clients.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Work Environment

Candidates must live within 50 miles of an office location. The role may require up to 25% travel to support job functions. The working environment involves collaboration within a team setting, requiring effective communication and coordination with team members and clients.

This is a Contract position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
