    Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Arc Flash analysis and electrical power systems design to support complex industrial and DOE-regulated projects. This role includes responsibilities across analysis, design, and field implementation, with increasing opportunities for technical leadership and project management development.

The ideal candidate will not only provide high-quality engineering support but also demonstrate the leadership aptitude, communication skills, and accountability required to progress into a Project Manager (PM) role, including managing on-site teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project execution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform Arc Flash studies and coordination studies in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
    • Conduct short circuit, load flow, and protective device coordination analysis.
    • Support design and modification of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
    • Develop single line diagrams, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
    • Evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and recommend upgrades or corrective actions.
    • Support field walkdowns, construction support, and commissioning activities.
    • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and design packages.
    • Ensure compliance with DOE, OSHA, NFPA, and applicable codes and standards.
    • Support multidisciplinary coordination with mechanical, I&C, structural, and project teams.
    • Provide technical input for procurement specifications and vendor evaluations.

    Leadership & Project Management Responsibilities:

    • Lead discrete work packages or technical scopes.
    • Coordinate and provide technical direction to junior engineers, designers, and field personnel.
    • Support planning activities including scope definition, schedule development, cost estimating, and risk identification.
    • Interface with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to support execution of project objectives.
    • Participate in or lead field activities, including managing on-site teams during walkdowns, installation, and commissioning efforts.
    • Demonstrate ownership of deliverables, including quality, schedule adherence, and responsiveness to project needs.
    • Progressively assume increased responsibility toward managing projects, teams, and client relationships.

    Requirements

    Minimum Education/Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET EAC-accredited program.
    • US citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
    • 5+ years of relevant industrial or DOE experience.
    • Demonstrated experience performing Arc Flash and protective coordination studies.
    • Experience with power system analysis tools such as ETAP, SKM, or equivalent software.
    • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, and OSHA.
    • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
    • Effectively prioritize workload across multiple projects with varying complexities and timelines.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience, such as leading small teams, task groups, or technical efforts.
    • Ability and willingness to take ownership of project scopes and drive work to completion.

    Desired Qualifications and Skills:

    • Prior experience supporting DOE or other nuclear facilities.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
    • Experience in hazardous or high-consequence industrial environments.
    • Experience leading small teams, managing subcontractors, or coordinating field execution.
