Job descriptionMUST BE A US CITIZEN (Please do not apply if you are not)Blacksea Technologies is seeking an electrical engineer to work on a variety of tasks related to design, integration, and testing of prototype systems in commercial and military machinery systems.The successful candidate will have experience and/or strong interests in the design of electrical and electronic component systems for production and prototype machinery and vessels. Equipment used in these systems includes, but is not limited to:Electric motors (from fractional HP to > 100 hp) and motor controllers including servo systems and variable frequency drivesControl systems comprised of micro‑controllers, programmable logic controllers, and other digital controllers that are used with machinery and roboticsSwitches and sensors used to detect the motion of componentsPower supplies, battery chargers, and power conversion equipmentCANbus and Ethernet equipmentCommunications equipment including mesh radios and SATCOM equipmentIndustrial electrical design and control systemsData acquisition and data logging equipmentComputing equipmentHydraulic systemsConventional vessel hull, mechanical, and electrical components including propulsion and power distribution systemsWork efforts will range from initial system power and data layout diagrams, component selection, power budgets, circuit protection design, computing and network layouts, iteration of these systems as the design evolves, guidance for technicians during system installation and debugging procedures, and proceed to system testing. Focus may range from system‑level design to subsystem or component detailed design, depending on program needs.RequirementsRequired SkillsBachelor's or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution3-6 years relevant experienceHands‑on experience with electromechanical systemsProven ability to size electrical and electronic components and wiring systems, and document in schematics and one‑line diagramsAbility to work with test equipment to diagnose and experiment with existing and newly developed circuits and systemsExperience with computing and digital networks in rugged environmentsAbility to coordinate and track project‑level work efforts including interfacing with technicians for the fabrication, assembly, and testing of hardware.Good communications skills and organizational skills.Desired SkillsExperience with SolidWorks Electrical Schematic and/or SolidWorks Electrical 3DExperience with Altium DesignerExperience with Product Lifecycle Management tools for configuration controlProject and/or Program Management experienceSalary Range$40-$52 an hourTravel3 trips per year estimated#J-18808-Ljbffr
