Guided by our values of safety, loyalty, integrity and respect, we are committed to delivering meaningful value for shareholders, customers, employees and the communities where we operate.The Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join the team as a project manager overseeing multiple capital projects as the company continues its investment in our core business to support the mills client groups.Job DutiesManage multiple capital projects (primarily electrical, instrumentation and/or controls), including design, purchasing, contract and construction management, financial and documentationProject development within a structured environment on such things as Front End LoadingProvide E&I project engineering support to the mechanical project engineers on their projectsWork with Purchasing Dept. to identify all project materials and equipment for project completionAssist in the attainment of general mill goals by serving on special teams or supplying teams with necessary technical supportResponsible for coordinating engineering and project activities while interacting with Maintenance and OperationsSupply technical assistance for electrical equipment failure analysis and preservation on existing mill equipmentPrepare, review and update mill specifications and review management of change proposalsProvide E&I expertise on maintenance work orders as neededRequirementsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology or related field and 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupation.Position requires experience in the following:Process design, power distribution, PLC / DCS and variable speed drives.Capital project development, execution, and installation/commissioning.Troubleshooting plant electrical equipment and systems.Supporting plant maintenance team on preventive maintenance activities, including equipment obsolescence planning and spare parts procurement strategy.Pulp and Paper experience a plus.What we offerCorporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability and excellenceComprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunitiesAn attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies and potentialA career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by state or federal law.The salary range for this position is $117,750.00 - $196,250.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
