    Description

    Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilities?We work?on applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve lines of robotic products.

    As an electrical engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-functional team environment with a diverse array of exciting technologies and products that directly support our nation’s war fighters.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.
    • Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
    • Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support.
    • Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers.
    • Will produce technical white papers, and brief management/customers on planning and progress.
    • Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change Notices/Engineering Change Proposals. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field with 2-10+ years of experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation.
    • Effective presentation skills.
    • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
    • Design and integration experience in military and/or commercial systems, control systems, EMI/EMC, power and safety.
    • Design and integration experience in some or all of the products and practices below is preferred/a plus:
    o Cable design
    o Hardware Safety and Risk analysis
    o RF link budgets
    o Hardware Environmental and Electromagnetic qualification to military standards
    o HALT and ESS testing
    o GPS and RF communication systems integration
    o AC and DC power and motors, motor controllers, and brakes
    o Ethernet and networking, RS232/422, CAN bus
    o Batteries (Lithium)
    o Power converters
    o Fault tree development and criticality analysis
    o Programming and algorithm development
    o Grounding and environmental control
    o Power test equipment such as electronic load banks
    • The candidate should have hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical cabling and digital communication.
    • Wired Ethernet and Network configuration experience is a plus.
    • Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

    Education & Experience Levels
    • Experience levels will be determined by a hiring team. We are looking for candidates with a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field.
