Electrical Engineer

Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. As an electrical engineer, you will perform a variety of assignments including conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, test, and manufacturing and field support. A strong candidate will possess a broad range of engineering skills. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-functional team environment with a diverse array of exciting technologies and products that directly support our nation's war fighters.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.
• Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
• Contribute to concept development as part of internal cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support.
• Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers.
• Will produce technical white papers, and brief management/customers on planning and progress.
• Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change Notices/Engineering Change Proposals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and/or master's degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field with 2-10+ years of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparation of design documentation.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
• Design and integration experience in military and/or commercial systems, control systems, EMI/EMC, power and safety.
• Design and integration experience in some or all of the products and practices below is preferred/a plus:

o Cable design

o Hardware Safety and Risk analysis

o RF link budgets

o Hardware Environmental and Electromagnetic qualification to military standards

o HALT and ESS testing

o GPS and RF communication systems integration

o AC and DC power and motors, motor controllers, and brakes

o Ethernet and networking, RS232/422, CAN bus

o Batteries (Lithium)

o Power converters

o Fault tree development and criticality analysis

o Programming and algorithm development

o Grounding and environmental control

o Power test equipment such as electronic load banks

• The candidate should have hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical cabling and digital communication.
• Wired Ethernet and Network configuration experience is a plus.
• Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Education & Experience Levels

• Experience levels will be determined by a hiring team. We are looking for candidates with a bachelor's and/or master's degree in electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field.
