Initially, we prefer candidates living near a Jacobs U.S. office, but we will consider the "best" candidates from anywhere in the country.As an Electrical Engineer in our Advanced Manufacturing group, you'll contribute to projects that enable the heart of our clients' successful data‑center facilities engineering, design and construction. In this role, you will have the chance to work on projects including engineering and design of data centers and other mission‑critical facilities. This position is location flexible in the U.S.You'll provide design work, contribute to team technical collaboration, perform quality reviews of design packages, and assist directly with other portions of the design process. You may also interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site. Your responsibilities will include engineering and design for data‑center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low‑voltage communications systems in complex industrial facilities. Design may also include retrofitting existing building systems to accommodate our clients' evolving requirements. Additional responsibilities may include managing quality, scope, budget, and schedule.QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline3 or more years' experience in engineering design of medium and low‑voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus‑style power distribution including conveyanceExtensive knowledge of and experience with industrial facility designWorking knowledge of Revit or BIM softwareSolid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) is preferredEffective verbal and written communication skillsPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseAt least 3 years of data‑center facility design experienceAnalytical and problem‑solving skillsForward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideasAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi‑disciplinary teamsPassionate about buildings and constructionExperience designing large projects established on greenfield sitesBenefitsOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you and in the things you care about.
