Electrical Engineer
Provide on-site electrical engineering support throughout BESS construction, installation, commissioning, and energization. Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, calculations, and construction packages. Oversee the installation of BESS containers, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and MV/LV electrical infrastructure. Perform field inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. Coordinate with engineering teams, EPC contractors, vendors, commissioning personnel, utilities, and project stakeholders. Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, field changes, and technical issues. Troubleshoot electrical installation, equipment, and commissioning issues in the field. Support testing, startup, system integration, and energization activities. Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, safety, and workmanship. Assist with punch lists, as-built documentation, turnover packages, and final project closeout. Travel regularly to project sites across the United States.
A successful Electrical Engineer should have: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Electrical engineering experience supporting power generation, renewable energy, utility, or industrial projects. Strong field experience involving electrical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, or startup. Experience with BESS projects is strongly preferred. Knowledge of medium-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, inverters, protection and controls, grounding, and power distribution. Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and construction documents. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and applicable electrical safety requirements. Strong communication, troubleshooting, and contractor-coordination skills. Ability to work independently in an active construction environment. Willingness to travel extensively based on project needs.
