Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing MEP consulting team. This role will support the design and delivery of electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate has experience developing construction documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and producing code-compliant designs through all project phases.

Responsibilities

  • Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
  • Develop construction drawings and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform electrical calculations including load studies, short circuit analysis, voltage drop, lighting photometrics, and panel schedules.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to integrate designs.
  • Participate in design development, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration phases.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and support field observations/site visits.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IECC, local codes, and client standards.
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and quality control requirements.
  • Interface directly with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–10+ years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience performing electrical calculations and preparing construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE license strongly preferred for senior-level candidates.

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare, mission critical/data center, higher education, commercial, or multifamily project experience.
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, AGi32, Visual Lighting, or EasyPower.
  • Familiarity with generator systems, UPS, and emergency power design.
  • Exposure to sustainable design and energy efficiency initiatives.
