We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing accurate and high quality electrical, lighting, and low voltage building designs, and meeting internal and customer standards, production schedules, and project goals.DutiesCollaborate with architects, clients, and our team to design interior and exterior lighting plans, photometric plans, photovoltaic systems, and electrical systems for multifamily housing, commercial, mixed use, and industrial facilities that meet customer needs and are compliant with state and local energy and building codes.Complete accurate electrical, lighting, and communication system calculations by hand and using industry software including SKM and other programsComplete thorough and accurate designs and drawings using prevalent and latest industry software including REVIT, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other programs.Demonstrate and maintain proficiency and technical expertise in electrical systems, low-voltage systems, current codes, standards, procedures, production software, and current industry trends.Conduct site visits to review on-site built conditions and develop feasible design solutions.Perform construction administration support both in the office and at the job site when needed.Effectively manage tasks and complete assigned work on-time and to high quality standards including multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.Perform general office tasks.ExperienceMin Education: Associates or 2-year degree in electrical building design; Bachelors/4-year degree preferred2 years work experience in electrical building design.Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret design and electrical drawings preferredKnowledge of the principles of facility electrical engineering and constructionKnowledge of NEC, WA State Energy Code, Seattle Energy CodeProficiency with AutoCad, Revit, and Microsoft Office productsProfessional and competent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to competently perform duties as described above and work effectively as a team across multiple projects and stakeholdersAbility to pass pre-employment drug test (including all federal illegal substances, e.g. marijuana), and other testing as required by contractsWilling and able to comply with project site safety plans, including masks and vaccination mandates where required.Ability and resources to reliably commute to Tacoma area regularly. This position requires regular in-person work in Tacoma, WA. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.Applicants must be US work authorized.
