In this role, you will spearhead a dynamic team of electrical and control experts dedicated to the creation and implementation of cutting-edge bulk material handling solutions. The role demands active collaboration with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure all project objectives are met and exceeded.
Your responsibilities will include leveraging your technical acumen to guide a talented team toward innovative project outcomes, assessing and coordinating staffing needs, and managing project phases to align with strict budgetary guidelines. You will oversee the evaluation of design projects to ensure conformity with engineering standards, company policies, contract specifications, and industry regulations.
Key duties involve maintaining clear communication with clients to relay project updates and resolving any concerns efficiently. You will coordinate with vendors and cross-discipline teams to ensure harmonized design efforts, prepare precise technical specifications, and support the mentoring of junior engineers to foster a high-performance team environment.
This position requires adept application of standard engineering methodologies to analyze data, recognize inconsistencies, and guide processes through to completion. Expect to exercise authority in reviewing and approving electrical engineering calculations and documentation, such as power distribution planning, cabling, and system schematics.
Additional responsibilities encompass applying expertise in project change management and reporting to management regarding project status relative to milestones, schedules, and budgets. Effective planning and scheduling of engineering efforts, as well as providing comprehensive technical reports, are essential elements of this role. Travel may be necessary to oversee project commissioning and QAQC procedures.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control or Power Systems.
- At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in a relevant engineering capacity.
- Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Mastery in electrical power system equipment sizing.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards, e.g., NEC or IEC.
**Desirable Attributes:**
Possession of a Masters Degree is advantageous. Bilingual abilities in Spanish or French are beneficial, as is experience with mining or bulk material handling systems and proven capability in power system analysis using software like ETAP or SKM.
