Electrical Engineer
Basic Purpose
This position is responsible for conceptualizing, analyzing, troubleshooting, formulating, designing and implementing technical concepts which improve the efficiency of production, the working environment and ergonomic conditions. Also responsible for researching advanced technology which contributes to production efficiency, cost reduction and a quality product. Position is responsible for designing, modifying and developing electrical control systems for processes, assuring safety and electrical standards are met.
Principal Accountabilities
Create and develop new designs and processes that are efficient and cost effective.
Troubleshoot production processes, equipment and plant utility problems.
Work with maintenance and production to identify root causes for equipment breakdowns. Develop fixes and/or preventative maintenance procedures to address problems.
Provide technological research to improve efficiency and reduce costs to areas of production and maintenance.
Oversee the efficient and cost-effective installation of new equipment and modification to existing equipment.
Participate in or lead the planning function of engineering projects and activities.
Design new control systems to improve productivity.
Lead/oversee development of control logic programming.
Provide technical support required to increase production and maintenance efficiency.
Participate on task forces, committees, and continuous improvement teams by providing engineering input, investigating suggestions of other team members, and proposing solutions to problems and contributing to the solution of the project issue.
Establish and enforce the national electrical standards (NEC).
