Our client, a leading innovator in autonomous vehicle technology, is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be part of the Hardware Development Department supporting the Infotainment and Connectivity Hardware team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: User Experience Hardware Electrical Engineer

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $85-$90/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

  • Own the development of key human-machine interfaces (HMI) used by riders to interact with autonomous vehicles, including hardware for user authentication, ingress access, communication, and occupant monitoring.
  • Specify electrical component and system requirements, lead engineering discussions, and coordinate with suppliers for drawing reviews, requirement validation, and change requests.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware issues through hands-on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and detailed log reviews.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, software, and system teams to iterate on existing designs and develop innovative solutions for future projects.
  • Support system and component validation testing, manufacturing, and vehicle build activities to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical component and system design, troubleshooting, and project management.
  • Experience working with automotive networks such as CAN bus, automotive Ethernet, and A2B, or in aerospace or safety-critical industries.
  • Proficiency with onboard digital serial interfaces like SPI, UART, I2C, and I2S, along with electrical and EMI testing expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with suppliers, and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
