Electrical Engineer

Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Athens, GA

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Engineer with expertise in PLC programming, manufacturing processes, and hardware systems to join our team in Athens, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and components to ensure the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Development:
    • Design and develop electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
    • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  2. PLC Programming and Troubleshooting:
    • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs and related automation equipment.
    • Develop and implement control strategies to optimize manufacturing processes.
  3. Hardware and Equipment Management:
    • Specify and select electrical components and hardware for new and existing systems.
    • Manage the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  4. Manufacturing Support:
    • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team to resolve electrical and control issues.
    • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  5. Project Management:
    • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  6. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for electrical systems, including schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
    • Ensure all electrical systems and processes comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardware systems.
    • Experience with industrial automation and control systems.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
