This role is responsible for developing electrical system architectures, schematic packages, protection strategies, and control interfaces supporting modular generator power systems.The ideal candidate will have experience designing industrial power systems involving generators, electrical distribution equipment, protection systems, and control interfaces within production‑driven engineering and manufacturing environments.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical System Design & ArchitectureDesign electrical systems supporting modular generator power platformsDevelop single line diagrams, wiring schematics, electrical layouts, and cable schedulesDesign electrical distribution systems supporting generator integration and power deliveryIntegrate generators with switchgear, transfer switches, protection systems, and auxiliary electrical equipmentSupport generator synchronization and load sharing systems for parallel generator operationDevelop grounding strategies, protection coordination approaches, and system isolation methodsControls, Monitoring & IntegrationDesign monitoring and control systems supporting generator operation and system functionalitySupport integration of generator control systems, paralleling controls, and power management interfacesCoordinate electrical design activities with mechanical packaging, enclosure layouts, cooling systems, and equipment integration requirementsCollaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Integration teams throughout design and production activitiesTesting, Commissioning & Production SupportSupport commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and troubleshooting of generator power systemsAssist with system validation, operational testing, and startup support activitiesSupport identification and resolution of electrical integration or production‑related issues during manufacturing and testingParticipate in design reviews, prototype builds, and production launch activitiesDocumentation & Engineering SupportDevelop production‑ready electrical documentation supporting modular generator manufacturing and integrationMaintain engineering documentation including schematic packages, drawing revisions, BOM support, and manufacturing documentationSupport standardization of electrical architectures and design practices across generator product platformsEnsure documentation accuracy and alignment with manufacturing and field installation requirementsRequirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering8+ years of experience in power systems or generator electrical designExperience with electrical distribution systems and protection devicesExperience designing industrial control systems and electrical schematicsPreferred QualificationsExperience with standby power or data center backup power systemsExperience integrating generator controls and paralleling switchgearExperience with microgrid or hybrid power systemsBenefits & PerksGTI Energy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support employees and their families while providing long‑term career growth opportunities within a fast‑growing manufacturing organization.
