Location: Houston, TX • Chicago, IL • Brooklyn, NYCompany: Guardian Engineering Enterprises, LLCGuardian Engineering Enterprises, LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer to join either our Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, or Brooklyn, NY office.The electrical engineer will perform electrical engineering assignments to design equipment, components, structures, or systems — with a growing focus on AI infrastructure, data center solutions, and mission‑critical facilities.Primary ResponsibilitiesPrepare project specifications detailing client performance requirements, design codes, and vendor drawing needs for electrical power distribution and control systems.Assist in designing power distribution systems for high‑density computing environments, including AI infrastructure and data centers, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and scalability.Support electrical system design for high‑performance computing hardware, including redundant configurations and emergency power systems for GPU‑intensive environments.Prepare engineering sketches, electrical load calculations, and analysis models for power capacity planning in data centers and AI compute clusters.Contribute to the design of redundant power systems (N+1, 2N) to ensure uninterrupted operations for critical AI and data center infrastructure.Develop specifications for electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, UPS systems, and emergency power equipment.> Review vendor drawings for compliance with specifications and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors regarding system requirements.Support energy‑efficient design implementation to optimize performance, power quality, and reliability for AI hardware environments.Work within schedule and budget parameters while maintaining quality and following established review procedures.Assist in designing electrical monitoring systems for real‑time tracking of power consumption and performance in data center environments.Comply with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and actively participate in safety programs.Support client relationships through professional communication, estimating assistance, and technical knowledge sharing within the team.Experience & Skill RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Electrical preferred); ABET‑accredited degree preferred.EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus but not required. (2–5 years of electrical engineering experience; field experience a plus.)Familiarity with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, and other electrical design software.Exposure to data center electrical infrastructure systems including power distribution, UPS systems, emergency power, and electrical monitoring.Basic knowledge of AI hardware electrical infrastructure and power delivery requirements for GPU/TPU clusters.Familiarity with electrical equipment design for facilities, including switchgear, transformers, and power conditioning systems.Understanding of electrical protection principles, power quality, and electrical safety systems.Interest in sustainable electrical design, energy efficiency, and reliability‑focused systems with knowledge of design codes ( NEC, NFPA, IEEE ).Understanding of load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and coordination studies applicable to data centers and AI infrastructure.Strong team collaboration, problem‑solving, and communication skills with effective time management.Experience coordinating electrical system layouts and integrating designs across disciplines for commercial and industrial applications.Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / DisabledWorking at Guardian Engineering EnterprisesClient‑centric.
