Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems in industrial and plant environments. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys owning projects from concept through execution, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical distribution systems. Perform and coordinate power system studies, including: Load flow Voltage drop Short circuit analysis Lighting calculations Ensure installation and operations align with project specifications, codes, and customer standards. Prepare electrical system specifications and technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit. Develop circuit designs, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, conduit layouts, and equipment schedules. Create and maintain technical documentation, including design files, submittals, and O&M manuals. Prepare engineering reports and compile data for both existing and proposed projects. Lead engineering projects and guide project teams as required. Interface directly with clients to scope work, manage deliverables, and support proposal development. Provide technical input to marketing and business development efforts when needed. Perform additional engineering-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. If not currently licensed in Texas, ability to obtain licensure within 36 months of employment. 5–10 years of professional experience in an industrial plant, engineering firm, or consulting environment. Experience with 480V, 5kV, and 15kV systems preferred. High to Medium-voltage MCC controls design experience preferred. Working knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, API, and ICC. Proficiency with engineering software such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower. Experience with relay programming (SEL) preferred. Strong computer proficiency and technical documentation skills.
