Summary Job Description:

Humphrey Products Company is a leading designer and manufacturer of pneumatic valves, proportional valves, manifolds, and precision fluid-control solutions. Humphrey serves industrial automation, medical device, life science, analytical instrumentation, transportation, and other demanding markets worldwide. The Electrical Engineer I supports the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of electrical and electro-mechanical products and assemblies. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, this position participates in new product development, sustaining engineering, production support, and engineering validation activities. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to develop technical expertise while contributing to innovative pneumatic and fluid-control products.

Key Responsibilities:

•          Assist with the design and development of electrical and electro-mechanical products, including solenoids, sensors, actuators, wiring, controls, and related assemblies.
•        Support new product development activities from initial concept through design verification and production release. Develop and execute engineering test plans under the direction of senior engineering personnel.
•          Set up test equipment, conduct validation testing, collect data, and document results.
•         Troubleshoot electrical, electro-mechanical, and product-performance issues.
•         Analyze technical data and assist with identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
•          Support production personnel with technical questions, product issues, and continuous-improvement activities.
•          Assist with the selection and evaluation of electrical components, materials, sensors, connectors, and related technologies.
•          Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, test reports, schematics, bills of materials, drawings, and engineering change documentation.
•          Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and cross-functional project meetings.
•          Work collaboratively with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Project Management.
•         Support compliance with Humphrey quality-system requirements, applicable industry standards, and customer specifications.
•         Perform other engineering duties and special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

•         Entry-level position generally requiring zero to two years of relevant engineering experience.
•         Foundational knowledge of electrical circuits, electronics, and electro-mechanical systems.
•         Familiarity with solenoids, sensors, actuators, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
•         Basic understanding of engineering testing, troubleshooting, data analysis, and structured problem-solving.
•         Exposure to PLCs, embedded systems, PCB design, or industrial communication protocols is preferred.
•         Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
•         Familiarity with common electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data-acquisition equipment.
•         Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn engineering software and business systems.
•         Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•         Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•         Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
•         Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
•         Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
•         Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

•        Engineering internship, cooperative education, laboratory, or related manufacturing experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college/university.

Work Environment and Travel

•         Primarily an office, engineering laboratory, and manufacturing environment.
• Minimal to no travel required.
