Who We're Looking For

Quantum Space is redefining mobility and maneuverability in space. Our high-mobility spacecraft platforms support national security, civil, and commercial missions with unmatched flexibility and propulsion capability. We build fast and iterate quickly. We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems and defense-related space technologies. In this role, you will contribute to spacecraft avionics, communications, power systems, embedded electronics, and hardware integration activities while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge aerospace hardware in a fast-paced environment supporting national security and spaceflight missions.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support the deployment, integration, and long-term maintenance of spacecraft FlatSat systems utilizing engineering models of flight hardware, software and hardware emulators, and associated EGSE. This role is intended for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware integration, debugging, systems validation, and multidisciplinary coordination.

You will work closely with systems, avionics, power, RF communications, flight software, ground software, GNC, and payload teams to integrate spacecraft subsystems into cohesive vehicle-level test environments supporting development, integration, launch preparation, and on-orbit operations.

Where You'll Make an Impact

Deploy, integrate, and maintain spacecraft FlatSat environments utilizing engineering models, hardware emulators, software simulators, and associated EGSE

Support development of cohesive spacecraft-level integration environments enabling subsystem validation, vehicle checkout, and mission readiness activities

Serve as an early hardware owner responsible for integrating discrete spacecraft subsystems into a unified flight-like system

Support ongoing maintenance and operational readiness of FlatSat platforms throughout spacecraft development and post-deployment mission operations

Collaborate across avionics, RF communications, power, flight software, ground software, GNC, payload, and systems engineering teams to support end-to-end spacecraft integration

Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution activities across integrated spacecraft systems

Develop and maintain integration procedures, test configurations, interface documentation, and operational workflows

Support design and integration of EGSE hardware, harnessing, and supporting infrastructure required for FlatSat operation

Assist with system-level integration testing, spacecraft checkout, regression testing, and mission support activities

Operate within fast-paced development environments requiring strong ownership, adaptability, and cross-functional coordination

What It Takes

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline

3+ years of experience developing electronics hardware for aerospace applications

Experience with spacecraft and embedded communication interfaces including RS-422/485, CAN, LVDS, SpaceWire, and Gigabit Ethernet

Familiarity with standard electronics laboratory equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers

Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis capability across integrated hardware systems

Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and spacecraft subsystems

Strong organizational and communication skills within multidisciplinary technical teams

Comfortable operating in fast-paced, iterative spacecraft development environments

Hands-on mindset with strong system-level awareness and integration intuition

Nice-to-Have Experience

M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Experience designing and building custom hardware emulators and EGSE systems

Experience designing and fabricating EGSE harnessing and electrical interfaces

Python scripting experience supporting automation, validation, or hardware control workflows

Experience with EGSE mechanical enclosure design and integration

Experience supporting spacecraft assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) activities

Familiarity with spacecraft avionics architectures and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments

Experience supporting mission operations or post-deployment spacecraft support activities

What You'll Get

Ownership - Become a primary hardware owner responsible for spacecraft-level FlatSat integration and operational readiness

Innovation - Build and maintain living spacecraft testbeds supporting next-generation high-mobility missions

Impact - Enable subsystem integration, spacecraft validation, and mission success from development through on-orbit operations

Growth - Work across nearly every spacecraft subsystem while developing deep integration and systems-level expertise

Compensation - Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 - Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, FSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing

Additional Requirements

To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
