Summary

Responsible for providing electrical engineering support for small to large-scale projects, including detailed design, project engineering, construction support, and technical expertise in electrical systems. Supports the design, review, implementation, and maintenance of electrical, security, fire alarm, data/telecom, and instrumentation and control systems while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, applicable codes, and project requirements. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support energy conservation initiatives, maintenance operations, utility improvements, validated systems, and project lifecycle activities from design through commissioning.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed electrical design for small to mid-scale projects, including drawing mark-ups, load calculations, coordination studies, short circuit calculations, voltage drop calculations, equipment specifications, and compliance with company standards and applicable codes.
  • Review designs for large-scale projects to ensure system compatibility, constructability, and conformance with engineering requirements.
  • Conduct field inspections and provide implementation support for electrical, security, fire alarm, data/telecom, and instrumentation and control installations.
  • Review electrical power, security, fire alarm, and instrumentation and control drawings.
  • Identify, scope, and manage energy conservation projects.
  • Troubleshoot electrical power quality issues in support of maintenance operations.
  • Provide project engineering and project management support for electrical and related projects.
  • Serve as the technical resource for maintenance teams on electrical operational issues.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to resolve utility bottlenecks and develop corrective actions.
  • Support Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) teams with technical input for permit applications.
  • Review and approve revisions to electrical drawings.
  • Review and approve change records affecting validated electrical systems.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards, electrical codes, construction practices, and project engineering principles.
  • Experience with project engineering and project management processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and ladder logic control drawings.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the complete project lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, and validation.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team-oriented and self-managed environments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
  • Ability to work in office, utility, cleanroom, warehouse, laboratory, rooftop, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and wearing cleanroom gowning as required.
