    Job Title: Electrical/ Electronic Engineer - Connectivity and Embedded Design Focused 
    Job Location: Atlanta, GA
    Project Duration: 6 months with possible extension upto 18 months
     
    Job Summary
    Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in embedded hardware design and wireless connectivity, specifically Thread and Matter, to join their Electronics Subsystems Group. This engineer will support the design, development, validation, and production of embedded electronic systems used in next-generation connected products.
    This role is part of a major Thread and Matter connectivity initiative, making hands-on experience with these technologies the top priority. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute immediately, work independently, and serve as a technical resource for embedded hardware and connectivity solutions.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    • Design, develop, and validate embedded electronic hardware and circuit board designs.
    • Define hardware architecture and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.
    • Design and interface microcontroller-based systems using communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART/Serial, USB, and CAN.
    • Perform hardware verification, board bring-up, component validation, and system-level testing.
    • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and other DFx best practices.
     
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
    • Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience preferred;candidates with 6+ years and strong Thread/Matter expertise will also be considered.
    • Strong embedded electronics and PCB design experience.
    • Hands-on experience with Thread and Matter wireless connectivity (required).
    • Experience with Bluetooth (BLE) and Wi-Fi connectivity.
    • Experience designing microcontroller-based hardware systems.
    • Strong knowledge of communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART/Serial, USB, and CAN.
    • Experience with hardware verification, validation, and testing.
    • Understanding of the complete electronics product development lifecycle.
    • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Altium Designer for PCB design.
    • Familiarity with Python, C, C++, or C# for test firmware or automation.
    • Experience with Electronics BOM lifecycle management tools such as Silicon Expert or IHS.
    • Experience with Windchill PLM.
    • Knowledge of cable harness design and component selection.
    • Familiarity with regulatory standards including FCC, UL, CE, and ETSIz
