Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is ideal for a motivated engineering professional who is excited to work on complex, high-impact projects that support the core operations of clients in highly regulated industries, including pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing facilities.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the technical quality and schedule performance of assigned engineering tasks, working closely with clients, discipline leads, and multi-disciplinary project teams. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to technically challenging projects while mentoring junior engineers and designers and supporting on-site activities during system startup and commissioning.
Execute electrical engineering design tasks while maintaining schedule, budget, and technical quality expectations
Develop electrical system designs for building and facility projects, including:
Medium- and low-voltage power distribution
UPS and generator systems
Interior and exterior lighting
Grounding and bonding
Fire alarm systems
Security systems
Public Address (PA) systems
Telecommunications systems
Heat trace systems
Coordinate work activities with discipline leads, project managers, and other engineering staff
Gain familiarity with client requirements, project scope, budgets, and schedules to support successful project delivery
Provide on-site engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning activities as required
Review and contribute to design documentation, calculations, drawings, and specifications
Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and designers
Collaborate effectively within a highly interactive, multi-disciplinary project team
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering design of building electrical systems
Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)
Experience delivering projects collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Professional Engineering (PE) license or demonstrated path toward licensure
Previous experience leading or mentoring electrical engineers and designers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to learn quickly and continuously broaden technical knowledge
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines
