Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mid to Senior Level Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting a variety of industrial projects across the United States. This remote, contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to work on projects in the chemical, mining, power, water/wastewater, advanced manufacturing, data center, and EV battery industries while supporting projects from FEED through EPC design.
Job Duties:
- Perform ETAP power system analysis and simulations.
- Support Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), RFPs, and pre-fee engineering efforts.
- Develop electrical designs through the 30%, 60%, and 90% design progression stages.
- Support Design-Build (D/B) and EPC projects.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial facilities.
- Experience designing electrical systems for industries such as chemical processing, mining, power generation, water/wastewater, advanced manufacturing, data centers, or EV battery facilities.
- EIT license is required.
- PE license is preferred or willingness to obtain within one year.
- Hands-on experience with ETAP or similar power system analysis software is required.
- Experience with SmartPlant or similar design software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of FEED, Design-Build, EPC, and industrial electrical design practices.
