    Who we are…
We are a team of scientists, engineers, technicians, and innovators dedicated to changing the world by developing medical isotopes to treat and eradicate cancer. We believe in building an environment where collaboration, curiosity, and camaraderie thrive. We also enjoy darts, cornhole, ping-pong, chili cook-offs, and other fun events that makes our company a community where we make a life, not just a living.
    Who you are…
You are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how complex systems work, why problems occur, and how they can be improved. You bring a reliable, methodical, and hands-on approach to problem solving, looking beyond symptoms to understand root cause and develop practical solutions. You value precision and sound judgment, while remaining adaptable as conditions, priorities, and technical challenges evolve. You communicate clearly, enjoy working with others to connect different perspectives, and take pride in work that is safe, thoughtful, and dependable. Words that describe you include curious, systems-oriented, precise, collaborative, resourceful, and data-driven.
What you can expect to work on…
Niowave is an engineering playground where you will be engaged in supporting processes across multiple major programs that have a direct impact on cancer patient survival. The Electrical Engineer will design, implement, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical and control systems used in linear particle accelerators and related radioisotope production equipment. This role requires expertise in high-voltage systems, RF power, pulsed power, and radiation-safe electrical design, with a strong emphasis on reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance in a radiological environment.
    • Designs, installs, and commissions electrical systems including high-voltage power supplies, pulsed modulators, klystrons, and RF distribution networks for the electron linac
    • Maintains and troubleshoots accelerator components such as electron guns, accelerating structures, beam diagnostics, vacuum systems, and magnet power supplies
    • Develops and implements control systems (PLC-based or embedded) for beam monitoring, interlocks, and personnel/radiation safety systems
    • Documents designs, procedures, and modifications; participate in safety reviews and root cause analyses for electrical or beam-related incidents
    • Supports integration of new technologies, such as superconducting RF components or advanced diagnostics, to enhance production scalability

    What you need to succeed…
    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field
    • 5+ years’ experience with progressive complexity
    • Experience should include:
      • Proficiency in high-voltage/high-power electronics, high-power RF systems, pulsed power, or similar complex scientific instrumentation (e.g., klystrons), PLC programming, and control systems (e.g., EPICS or similar)
      • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting in radiation environments, vacuum systems, or beamline instrumentation
      • CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and simulation software
    • Knowledge of radiation safety, interlock systems, and regulatory requirements for radiological facilities
    • Develops and maintains good relationships, gains the confidence of others, and works effectively in a multidisciplinary matrix environment
      • Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization
      • Appreciates the current state of systems and processes and exercises sound judgment in proposing and implementing improvements
      • Understands personal communication and learning styles and adapts approach to connect effectively with others
    • Displays excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
    • Possesses strong organizational and project management skills for self and teams
    • Demonstrates a system-level thinking and integration mindset

    Great to have…
    • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field
    • 8+ years’ experience in electrical systems for particle accelerators, high-power RF systems, pulsed power, or similar complex scientific instrumentation
    • Experience with electron linear accelerators (linacs) or medical/industrial accelerators
    • Experience at national labs, medical linacs, or isotope production facilities highly desirable
    • USPAS training/certification
    • Familiarity with isotope production processes
    • Certification in radiation safety or willingness to obtain relevant training
