PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Maple Grove, MN for a one-year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electrical Engineer will support the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of complex military equipment. This role involves researching, designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic and electrical systems and components. The engineer will work under the general direction of a project engineering lead and support electrical system design across military systems including combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.
Required Skills
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
Experience creating, reading, and comprehending schematics and interconnect drawings.
Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems using professional engineering knowledge.
Ability to create and manage interface control documents.
Ability to perform circuit simulation using PSpice or LTspice.
Experience developing technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and technical analysis.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to present data, information, and technical results to customers.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, and LabVIEW.
Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C#, or LabWindows/CVI.
Working knowledge of OrCAD, Visio, and circuit board schematic and layout tools.
Familiarity with component design in high-EMI environments.
Systems engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
Experience designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.
Experience integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and developing electronic control logic.
Experience developing and integrating power generation, conversion, and storage solutions.
Experience with ammunition handling/loading systems, including autoloaders and large caliber rammer systems.
What You'll Do
Research, plan, design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic and electrical systems and components.
Use modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and verification procedures.
Perform detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product applications.
Evaluate vendor capabilities, technologies, and services.
Support electrical system design for military platforms and related equipment.

$56.31 per hour
