Finish Line Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support sustaining and manufacturing engineering activities for advanced medical devices. This role focuses on troubleshooting electrical systems, implementing design improvements, and supporting production within a contract manufacturing and supplier environment.The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with circuit design and testing, and the ability to drive improvements in product reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues, field failures, and production test failures.
Evaluate component obsolescence and implement circuit design changes or replacements.
Assess design modifications for functionality, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and validate product improvements.
Perform root-cause analysis and failure investigations using schematics, test data, and diagnostic equipment.
Develop, qualify, and maintain electrical testing equipment and processes for PCBAs and finished devices.
Support PCBA testing, programming, and electrical system validation.
Prepare engineering documentation, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and validation reports.
Coordinate with regulatory and safety agencies regarding component replacements and approvals.
Qualifications
3–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; associate degree considered.
Strong circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and electrical testing skills.
Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.
Familiarity with OrCAD Capture or equivalent schematic design software.
Experience with PCB layout software preferred.
Knowledge of high-voltage circuits and laser-based systems is a plus.
Familiarity with IEC 60601 and IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards preferred.
Experience with root-cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, or Fishbone Analysis.
Medical device industry experience preferred but not required.
Ability to travel approximately 10% domestically and internationally.
