We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join a collaborative and innovative engineering team in Melville, NY.

This role is heavily focused on R&D, electronic design, PCB development, firmware maintenance, testing, and product improvement initiatives. Salary Range: $110,000 - $115,000
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
Design, develop, and analyze electronic systems for utility room products.
Create analog and digital circuit designs from concept through production.
Develop and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard CAD tools.
Perform engineering design evaluations to ensure functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
Design and develop test fixtures and supporting hardware for verification and validation activities.
Process and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
Firmware & Embedded Systems
Maintain and update embedded firmware for existing products.
Develop and troubleshoot embedded software using C and C++.
Support microcontroller-based product development initiatives.
Apply object-oriented programming principles to embedded applications when appropriate.
Testing & Validation
Conduct testing and validation of new and existing product designs.
Analyze test results and identify opportunities for performance enhancements.
Participate in design verification, failure analysis, and troubleshooting activities.
Support EMI/EMC-conscious design practices and testing efforts.
Documentation & Process Improvement
Create and maintain:
Engineering drawings
Design specifications
PCB layouts
Test reports
Design diagrams
Work instructions
Standard operating procedures
Recommend and implement design and process improvements to enhance product quality and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with manufacturing, testing, quality, and product development teams.
Support products throughout the entire lifecycle-from concept and prototyping through production and sustaining engineering.
Take ownership of assigned projects and drive them to successful completion.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor"s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE Required).
3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering and product development.
Experience with:
Analog circuit design
Digital circuit design
Schematic capture
PCB layout and design
Microcontroller programming
Embedded firmware development experience using:
C
C++
Experience with PCB design software such as:
OrCAD
Pulsonix
Altium
Similar CAD platforms
Strong understanding of electronic hardware development processes.
Experience designing and building test fixtures.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing products for regulated industries or standards including:
UL
CE
ISO
FDA
Exposure to EMI/EMC design considerations and testing.
Experience supporting products through the full lifecycle from concept through manufacturing.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles.
