Location Middletown OH

Cleveland-Cliffs Middletown Works has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer at our Middletown OH plant within the Steelmaking department. In this role you will provide critical technical support to our Steelmaking maintenance teams focusing on safe and reliable electrical work practices advanced troubleshooting and continuous improvement of equipment performance. This position plays a key part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our steelmaking operations.

Summary of Responsibilities

Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for upgrades to both new and existing equipment.

Develop design specifications oversee work performed by tradecraft personnel deliver training on system changes assist with commissioningstart-up activities and update final drawingsdocumentation.

Manage power distribution from medium-voltage and 480V substations to motor control centers and associated loads.

Apply root-cause and failure-analysis methodologies to identify and eliminate recurring equipment issues.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures plan and support equipment outages downturn repairs and asset replacements.

Support improvements in spare parts management including repair processes inventory control and cost optimization.

Collaborate with operations to ensure alignment with equipment standards operating procedures and reliability expectations.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

At least 3 years of experience with electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.

Ability and willingness to support a 247 operating environment including potential on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Co-Op or related experience in electrical system design programming and commissioning of industrial equipment.

Experience with 250V DC motor control and overhead crane control systems.

Knowledge of ACDC motor drives.

Prior experience in the steelmaking process.

Proficiency with AutoCAD.
