Electrical Engineer

Location Rockport INCleveland-Cliffs Rockport Works has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer. The Electrical Engineer demonstrates a broad grasp of the technical and administrative aspects of electrical engineering techniques and principles. Projects assigned are complex involve multiple variables and can be cross-functional. Individuals in this role prepare effective communications across the organization and aid in problem resolution specific to assigned programsprojects.Summary of ResponsibilitiesDevelop solutions and implement projects that improve the process and focus on providing electrical and programming logic expertise Diagnose and troubleshoot programming electrical and process issuesMust be able to create and modify programming logic systems and code to support and improve the processConduct tests to confirm necessary programming and equipment changesMust possess the ability to work with operations engineering maintenance and other technical resources in a group and then drive resultsAnalyze and modify blueprints schematics and drawings of electrical systemsMust have the ability to lead andor monitor the electrical work of outside contractors e.g. electrical system upgrades expansions etc. for the purpose of ensuring that the projects are satisfactory and completed in a timely mannerComplete project responsibilities for design specification review and development of electrical equipment or systems.Should have a working knowledge of industrial wiring controls and instrumentationOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology or related degree.Working knowledge of PLC and HMI setup and programmingWorking knowledge of AC and DC drives troubleshooting and setupWorking knowledge of tuning and calibration of PID loops and controlsGeneral knowledge about networkingAbility to troubleshoot complex process problemsAbility to self-learn new hardware software platformsMust be able to work in a multi-level organization which operates 247Must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment utilizing clear and effective communication skillsStrong problem-solving and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to operate in a fast-paced environmentAble to manage several projects at a time and make timely and accurate decisionsKnowledge of Microsoft applications computer skills and data analysis skillsPreferred QualificationsIdeal candidates will have two or more years of related experience in manufacturing.PLC design programming installation and troubleshooting experience.Siemens PLC Series 57 is a plus.Experience with Siemens Masterdrives.Experience with IBA PDA.In-depth knowledge of power distribution equipment.Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
