About this position
SeeScan is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our DeepSea Oceanographic Products team.
This is a fully onsite position located in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 annually.
This range represents a good faith estimate based on the qualifications we expect to find in a successful candidate. Actual compensation offered may be less or greater than this estimate based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, our assessment of your ability to bring value to our organization.

In this position, you will
- Be a member of a multi-disciplinary team supporting multiple product development and sustaining engineering projects
- Develop new electronic designs supporting oceanographic imaging and lighting products
- Define design performance requirements and perform qualification testing
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers on new product design projects
- Support manufacturing and sustaining
- Identify, analyze and isolate problems on both system-wide and board level scales
- Contribute to some or all of the following: Schematic capture and PCB layout; Power supply design; High speed digital electronics; Embedded computing; Sensing and instrumentation

Desired skills
This hands-on role calls for strong troubleshooting skills, creative problem solving, and genuine curiosity. We value broad experience, a solid grasp of fundamentals, and a drive to keep learning. Relevant skills and tools include:
- Schematic capture and PCB layout design, KiCad a plus
- Tool suites such as LTSpice, HyperLynx, Python and/or Matlab
- PCB-level troubleshooting
- System design
- Electronic design validation
- C/C++
- Power supplies
- High speed electronics
- Imaging technologies
- Electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and network analyzers
- Project management and collaboration tools such as GitLab
Your background
- 2-5 years minimum experience in an electronic design and test role
- BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar with relevant experience
