Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their client's innovative team. This position is pivotal in designing and developing cutting-edge photonics-based products, and it requires a highly skilled professional who is passionate about engineering excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate analog and digital electronic circuits for photonics-based products.
- Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical system architectures using industry-standard design software.
- Support the integration of lasers, photodetectors, optical transceivers, sensors, power supplies, and embedded control systems.
- Perform circuit simulation, electrical analysis, and root cause investigations.
- Create and execute test plans, verification procedures, and validation protocols.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and system-level issues during prototype and production phases.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through manufacturing release.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product reliability, quality, and yield.
- Review and approve engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, specifications, ECOs, and test procedures.
- Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to qualify components and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and product development.
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Cadence.
- Experience using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters, and signal generators.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting products from prototype through production.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with photonics, optical systems, lasers, fiber optics, or optoelectronics.
- Knowledge of FPGA, microcontroller, and embedded system design.
- Familiarity with high-speed signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and RF considerations.
- Experience with test automation using Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA principles, and quality systems.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing industries.

Benefits
The position offers competitive pay, with a maximum annual salary of $150,000.
