Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who can independently manage projects, serve as a trusted client contact, and provide leadership to a small team of designers.

A Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required. Local candidates are preferred, but qualified candidates outside the immediate area will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
Building Electrical Design
Design electrical systems for commercial, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and healthcare projects.
Prepare complete construction drawing packages, specifications, and supporting documentation.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

Project Ownership
Manage projects from kickoff through construction completion.
Coordinate schedules, deliverables, project scope, and budgets.
Respond to RFIs and provide construction administration support.
Client & Consultant Coordination
Serve as the primary electrical engineering contact for architects and clients.
Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other project stakeholders.
Maintain strong relationships while ensuring project expectations are met.

Team Leadership
Mentor, guide, and review the work of junior designers and engineers.
Help organize project workloads, priorities, and deadlines.
Contribute to design production while supporting team development.

Technical Requirements
Strong electrical design experience within the building design industry.
Experience producing construction documents for commercial or multifamily projects.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and industry standards.

Communication & Organization
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Proactively identify risks, communicate issues early, and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience leading projects independently.
Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
Leadership or mentoring experience within an engineering environment.
