Overview
Leidos is seeking a Electrical Engineer to support the Ports & Borders program within the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) organization. This role focuses on site development, infrastructure engineering, installation support, and integration activities associated with advanced cargo, vehicle, and rail X-ray imaging and radiation scanning systems deployed at ports of entry, border crossings, seaports, and rail inspection facilities.
The selected candidate will support electrical engineering and integrated site design efforts for complex inspection systems, coordinating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, installation personnel, construction contractors, and customer stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop electrical engineering design packages supporting site development and installation of cargo, passenger vehicle, and rail X-ray inspection systems.
Support MEP and LEP infrastructure design associated with deployment of integrated scanning and radiation detection systems.
Develop and review:
Electrical site plans
Power distribution designs
Telecommunications
Conduit and cable routing layouts
Panel schedules
Electrical load calculations
One-line diagrams
Grounding and bonding plans
Installation packages and construction documentation
Support site surveys, field assessments, design reviews, installation planning, engineering assessments, and construction coordination activities.
Interface with utilities, subcontractors, construction teams, and customer representatives to support successful system deployments. Coordinate with various disciplines, civil engineers, architects, systems engineers, and field installation teams.
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system acceptance activities.
Support integration of VACIS IP6500, M6500, and related X-ray imaging and radiation scanning systems into customer facilities and transportation infrastructure environments.
Review contractor submittals, RFIs, field modifications, and as-built documentation.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, customer standards, and applicable electrical codes.
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle from concept development through construction and deployment.
Support project execution across multiple domestic and international deployment sites.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
