We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our client's engineering team and support a wide range of electrical design and analysis projects. Any experience with Neher-McGrath studies would be ideal. A background with Short Circuit and Arc Flash studies is also helpful.
This role will be responsible for developing power distribution and lighting system designs for commercial, industrial, institutional, and data center/mission critical projects, The role will also perform detailed power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, and equipment evaluations.
Essential Responsibilities
Electrical Design
Design low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems.
Develop electrical construction documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and details.
Design interior and exterior lighting systems, lighting controls, and emergency lighting systems.
Prepare electrical load calculations and equipment sizing calculations.
Design feeders, branch circuits, panels, switchboards, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil disciplines.
Perform site investigations and assessments of existing electrical systems.
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor requests during construction.
Support commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities as required.
Power System Analysis
Perform short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and load flow studies.
Develop and maintain electrical one-line diagrams and system models.
Utilize software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar platforms to perform system studies.
Evaluate system reliability, fault current availability, voltage drop, and equipment ratings.
Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on study results.
Assist clients with compliance related to NFPA 70E and electrical safety requirements.
Analyze existing facility electrical systems and recommend improvements or upgrades.
Required:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
5 plus years of experience performing power system studies and arc flash analysis or Power and Lighting design
