Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 7+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in medical devices or a closely related regulated hardware industry (medical device experience strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer (or equivalent EDA tools) and hands-on PCBA development including schematic capture, BOM generation, and PCB layout review.
  • System-level electrical engineering competency across analog, digital, mixed-signal (ADC/DAC), communications, and high-power electronics within complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 and the ability to develop verification evidence for electrical safety, EMC, and functional performance in a design-controlled environment.
  • Hands-on use of lab test and measurement equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
  • Experience with reliability analysis, design risk mitigation, and controlled documentation environments (GMP or similar).
  • Preferred experience developing and integrating motion control, closed-loop control, and power distribution subsystems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead system-level electrical design and architecture for new product development and support sustaining engineering and continuous improvement for released products.
  • Author system requirements, design specifications, test plans, protocols, and verification reports for power, EMC, electrical safety, and functional performance.
  • Partner with mechanical and software engineering to ensure compliance with applicable medical device standards and design-controlled processes.
  • Drive system-level design tradeoffs balancing performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support design transfer by building prototypes, developing test fixtures and stations, and performing troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause analysis on failed electrical assemblies.
