Description
Position Name: Electrical Engineer
Location: West Lafayette, IN
Position Type: Full Time
Role
A full-time Electrical Engineer will be integral to developing our newest technology to the point of commercialization. They will contribute to the planning, design, and testing of advanced hardware platforms that meet the high standards of performance required to compete in our industry. In this startup environment, they will have the opportunity to branch out and develop a broad skill set.
Responsibilities
Implement sensing, controls, power, and other types of electronics within our instruments
Assist in the testing and bring-up of new hardware
Integrate electronics into our existing electronic, optical, and mechanical platforms
Improve the performance of existing designs in terms of bandwidth, SNR, reliability, etc.
Proactively identify requirements and critical issues in our electronics designs
Coordinate with design contractors, board manufacturing, electronic component sourcing
Participate in design review for all aspects of our electronics
Qualifications
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
4+ years of professional experience is ideal
Able to design, simulate, prototype, and troubleshoot electronic circuits
Able to work cohesively with electrical, firmware, and mechanical teams
Able to gain a deep understanding of our core technology
Experience in any of the following areas is a plus, but is not required: Photonics, Electromechanical design, FPGA, RF design, Physical simulation (thermal, electromagnetic)
