Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and coordination of electrical systems for municipal, commercial, and public infrastructure projects. This role supports projects from concept through construction by developing technical designs, preparing documentation, and ensuring systems meet all applicable codes and performance requirements.

The Electrical Engineer works closely with multidisciplinary teams and public agencies to deliver reliable, efficient, and compliant electrical solutions for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and control systems.
• Prepare engineering documents including plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Perform electrical system analysis and calculations to ensure performance, safety, and code compliance.
• Support projects across sectors including municipal, institutional, commercial, and infrastructure developments.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in project meetings, including coordination with public agencies and stakeholders.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including field inspections and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, electrical standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design conflicts and improve constructability.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Support projects from inception through completion, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering for building or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on municipal, public works, or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E. license) or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure or public utility projects.
• Experience with lighting design, photometric analysis, and electrical modeling tools.
• Familiarity with construction administration and field support activities.
