The Electrical Engineer will assist with the design and release of electrical parts and assemblies on High Density Liquid Cooling units. This Electrical Engineer will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities as required in this dynamic environment to solve complex problems where no precedence exists.
Responsibilities:
Design electrical systems for Liquid Cooling Systems including Two-Phase and Single- Phase Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
Size and select electrical components based on offering and system requirements
Create unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
Create electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
Create wire harnesses including wire sizing, appropriate terminal connections and necessary routing
Create drawings and bills of materials
Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
Implement product changes to solve field issues and support the service department
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 1-5 years of experience in an electrical engineering field in product development role
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
Ability to take direction and guidance from senior engineers
History of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB and/or UL Standards for HVAC systems
Preferred Qualifiiations:
Preferred 2-4 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field.
Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation
Experience with communication and interconnect standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet
