Electrical Harness Design Engineer – Zuken SME

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Harness Design Engineer with deep expertise in Zuken and strong knowledge of PCBA design fundamentals. This role will focus on electrical harness development, schematic creation, layout design, and manufacturing-ready documentation for high-volume, scalable products.

The ideal candidate is a proven Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Zuken who can independently drive electrical and harness design activities without requiring design guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical wire harness systems for high-volume production environments
  • Create harness schematics, layouts, and assembly drawings using Zuken
  • Develop and maintain PCBA electrical schematic and layout designs
  • Support scalable, reliable product development for mass manufacturing applications
  • Perform component and connector selection based on electrical, mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing requirements
  • Ensure designs meet reliability, manufacturability, and certification standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams

Required Qualifications

  • Proven expertise with Zuken (SME-level proficiency required)
  • Strong experience in electrical harness design and documentation
  • Hands-on PCBA schematic and layout design experience
  • Ability to independently develop designs without technical guidance
  • Strong understanding of: - Voltage and current fundamentals
    • Grounding concepts
    • Basic electromagnetic physics
    • Harness component selection
    • Connector selection criteria
    • Harness assembly and manufacturing processes
    • PCBA design fundamentals (schematic and layout)

Preferred Industry Experience

  • Automotive or other high-volume manufacturing industries
  • Experience developing products produced at scale (millions of units)
  • Strong focus on reliability, manufacturability, and scalability

  • IP ratings and environmental protection standards
  • Electrical certification considerations
  • Design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
