Responsibilities
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include lighting distribution, conduit/cable tray fills, voltage drop, feeder sizing, etc.
- Develop and maintain Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Schematic/Interconnection Diagrams, Conduit/Cable Schedules, Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, Controls, Raceway, etc.
- Support the development of Power System Study models for short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations efforts
- Assist experienced Electrical Engineers with their activities as requested
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must
- Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Seeks feedback to improve performance
- Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software preferred
- Familiarity with Power System Modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower) is desirable
Potential Experiences
- Gain an understanding of the business and engineering work flow in a consulting firm
- Observe and learn the application of electrical distribution concepts and systems such as protective schemes, device coordination, emergency power, motor control, hazardous area installation methods, etc.
- Expand capabilities with drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Plant 3D, Revit, Inventor, Navisworks, or others
- Exposure to and application of industry codes and standards related to the electrical discipline
- Introduction to utility interface voltages and client medium and low voltage distribution systems
