Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is seeking a Electrical Engineering Manager 2 to join a multi-functional team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Systems Engineers in Roy, UT. This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to execute the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel Program.

The primary objective of this role is to collaborate across Systems Engineering, System Test, Global Supply Chain, suppliers, and other Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop and review Electrical System hardware requirements, specifications, designs, trade studies, and analyses for the purpose of supporting incremental system maturity milestones and hardware deliveries. The successful candidate will be comfortable with working in a dynamic people-focused environment and collaborating across multiple internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve organizational goals.

This position is a dual-hatted role that involves both individual contributions as a senior engineer in the Electrical domain (80%), as well as people leadership in a functional management homeroom (20%).

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose technical requirements, develop complete and verifiable requirements, and conduct trade studies

  • Ensure team members have the required training, tools, and access to perform design engineering responsibilities.

  • Develop and review engineering packages for product lifecycle management release.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other

Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field plus 8 years of experience, or Master's Degree in STEM field plus 6 years of experience

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years

  • Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances (SAP) and a DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • At least 1 year of proven demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a combination of: Electrical Hardware design, Cable-Harness design, and wire schematic development

  • Familiar with Siemens Mentor Graphics Capital cable design tool or equivalent

  • Experience with CAD skills with experience developing wire diagrams or electrical schematics

  • Experience in a technical leadership position

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Systems Engineering

  • At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule in an Electrical Design organization in a lead or managerial role

  • 1+ years Cost Account Manager and Program Scheduling experience

  • Electrical requirement verification experience

  • Integration and Test development/execution experience

  • Experience with Team Center/CPLM

  • Experience with Siemens Mentor Graphics Capital cable design tool or equivalent

  • Experience leading TEMPEST or EMI efforts with integrated product teams (IPTs)

  • Strong CAD skills with experience developing wire diagrams or electrical schematics

  • Experience designing, analyzing, and developing a power budget for an electrical power system of a military / aerospace system

  • Experience developing multi discipline system architecture for a military / aerospace system

  • Mechanical engineering experience

  • Working experience designing, troubleshooting (RCA) and/or implementing ground power systems, facility power systems and/or launch power systems.

  • Revit experience.

  • Experience with high-power and/or high-frequency systems, including power electronics.

  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.

  • Authorship and release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.

  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.

  • Experience maintaining and reporting status of program activities

  • Electrical Professional Engineering (P.E.) license

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate''s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
