Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and support an electrical design team responsible for the development of electrical systems, drawings, and documentation for low-voltage power distribution products. This role will provide technical leadership, ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage the electrical design team, providing technical guidance and support.
Oversee the design and development of electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Support electrical design activities for products including LV switchgear, DataBars, Remote Power Panels (RPPs), and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable UL standards, industry requirements, and regional regulations.
Review schematics, general arrangement drawings, and BOMs against project requirements and quotations to ensure engineering accuracy.
Conduct design reviews and provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain and develop electrical CAD blocks, libraries, and design standards.
Collaborate with engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Provide technical support and resolve electrical engineering queries both internally and externally.
Maintain accurate and complete engineering records in accordance with document control requirements.
Support quality and engineering systems initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function.
Proactively identify project risks, opportunities, issues, and appropriate mitigation strategies.
Ensure engineering activities comply with company quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Support the development and implementation of engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred; equivalent industrial experience may be considered.
5+ years of experience in electrical design or electrical engineering.
Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing an electrical engineering/design team.
Strong experience with AutoCAD Electrical or a similar electrical CAD platform; EPLAN experience is advantageous.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, customer specifications, and applicable product standards.
Knowledge of low-voltage power distribution systems.
Working knowledge of electrical systems including PLC, interlocking, small power and lighting, AC/DC power supplies, and earthing/grounding systems.
Strong understanding of electrical design principles, engineering documentation, and design review processes.
Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Autodesk Vault or other PLM systems.
Experience with ERP systems.
Knowledge of UL standards and electrical product compliance requirements.
Experience with power distribution equipment such as LV switchgear, RPPs, PDUs, or related electrical infrastructure.
Professional engineering qualification such as CEng or equivalent is a plus.
