Role : Electrical Engineering Manager - New Product Development (RF/Digital)Location : Rochester, New YorkType: FTE/PermanentJob Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday offJob DescriptionThe company's Communication Systems segment Tactical Communications sector is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Engineering Manager for New Product Development & legacy sustainment experienced with managing people and large multi-dimensional projects, to join an engineering organization that designs and delivers leading edge communications products.The candidate will be responsible for electrical hardware management of one or more products in the multi-channel radio portfolio as well as the engineers who support them. As a lead member of the multi-channel radio management team, the candidate will have hands on responsibility for leading the engineering team in many aspects of electrical design, integration, testing, operations, and customer support.The candidate will work collaboratively across the engineering organization to focus on project cost estimation, requirements management, technical baseline creation, review and approval, process artifact review and approval, and risk management/analysis in addition to overseeing project execution.Essential FunctionsPeople management responsibility for 7 or more electrical engineers and internsElectrical rough order of magnitude (ROM) and basis of estimate (BOE) creationLaison to the Chief Engineering (CE) for respective productsResource and planning management responsibilityFinancial reporting and responsibility for respective project budgetsCreate and maintain project schedulesTracking and estimating project requirements and budgetsMaking design decisions and assessing technical risks based on schedule and budget constraintsFamiliar with the principles and techniques of electrical engineeringCoordinate project integration with other radio subsystems / Disciplines including Mechanical, Digital, RF, FPGA, DSP, embedded firmware, etc.Support operations with the goal of improved product cost, quality, yield, and throughput.Support the introduction of new products into operationsParticipate in product and process cost reduction and product improvement efforts.10% or less travel may be requiredAbility to obtain a US security clearanceQualificationsBachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.2 years of experience in Engineering Project Management, Project Engineering, management of engineering teams.Experience with new product development in an electrical engineering capacity (RF, Digital, PWBA)Preferred Additional SkillsFamiliarity with complex schedules and Earned Value Management (EVM)Experience with Configuration Management software and tools (E.g. Agile)Experience in DFX analysis and implementation for volume manufacturingExperience requirements management Software and tools (e.g. DOORS)Familiarity with the INCOSE V product development modelFamiliarity with common test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, and Signal AnalyzersIdeal CandidateMust have experience with new product development across electrical and other disciplines (electrical, software, systems, printed wiring boards, testing, etc.).#J-18808-Ljbffr
