Job Title: Electrical Engineering Support Specialist
Location:Colorado Springs, CO Job Type: Full-time, Contract Duration:Base Period (September 2026 – May 2027)plus four option years
Job Overview: As an Electrical Engineering Support Specialist, you will provide expert technical advisory services to the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES). You will serve as a key technical partner managing the full lifecycle of facilities and infrastructure projects—from initial expert-level design and comprehensive project planning to diligent construction surveillance—ensuring the federal infrastructure remains mission-ready.
Core Responsibilities
Design & Planning: Lead the planning and design of substantial, multi-phase construction and renovation projects, including the preparation of detailed calculations, cost estimates, technical drawings, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
Construction Surveillance: Oversee new construction and improvement projects to ensure strict compliance with contracted specifications, schedules, codes, and safety requirements; resolve on-site technical issues and review change orders.
Technical Consultancy: Serve as a primary project coordinator, liaising with architects, planners, contracting officers, and external agencies (such as USACE or NAVFAC) to integrate complex technical, functional, and spatial requirements.
Execution & Assessments: Plan and execute engineering projects using Government cost-estimating tools; conduct facility condition assessments and analyze technical data (via CAD and GIS) to develop long-range infrastructure priorities.
Qualifications
Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience is required.
Technical Knowledge: Professional knowledge of electrical engineering principles with a strong familiarity with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines to ensure proper design integration.
Regulatory & Software Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of engineering standards, contracting regulations, and environmental laws; high degree of skill in engineering automation software and drafting techniques for project documentation.
Security & Compliance
Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) for unescorted entry to restricted military areas.
Must have legal United States residency and work authorization status
