We are searching for an EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR to join the team of a well-respected electrical contractor based in the Jersey Shore area.
Primary responsibilities include:
Prepare complete cost estimates for electrical projects with minimal supervision and ensure estimates are completed in accordance with the bid schedule.
Prepare cost estimates of materials, labor and equipment for electrical projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications on public and private projects
Attend pre-bid conferences and site visits
Understand and execute labor and material take-offs
Prepare project cost breakdowns on estimates
Coordinate and obtain price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects
Conduct periodic site visits to confirm work methods and work approaches are consistent with the estimate
Assess project cost performance by tracking actuals against contractor bids and project estimate
Coordinate and prepare the assembly of estimate materials to turnover to project management once awarded Knowledge and Skills:
McCormick knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of electric systems, equipment, engineering, construction, pricing and operation
Knowledge of estimating techniques and principles and the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
Self- motivated, proactive and a quick learner that can thrive in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Understanding of financial information and financial functions
Proficiency in computer programs including Google Suite, Procore, Agora
Experience/Education
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or Construction management OR Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Business OR the equivalent combination of experience and education
Field experience is a Splus
Estimating experience is required - 5 years at a mid-level estimator
Experience in understanding blueprints, electrical diagrams, specifications, proposals, and contractual documentation to prepare estimates for projects and services
