Electrical Estimator

Location: Bolingbrook, IL

A growing electrical and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects while collaborating with experienced project managers, engineers, and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction drawings and specifications to develop accurate project estimates
  • Perform detailed electrical takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Analyze project scope, phasing, and constructability to identify opportunities and potential challenges
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Prepare complete bid packages, including scope letters and proposal documentation
  • Participate in project handoff meetings with project management and field personnel
  • Support ongoing projects by assisting with change orders, pricing requests, and technical questions
  • Maintain organized estimating files and documentation to support bid accuracy
  • Develop accurate labor, material, and cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects
  • Work on multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Experience estimating commercial or industrial electrical construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, labor, and installation methods
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent electrical trade experience
  • Valid driver's license
