    About this Role

    PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to support the development of accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical utility construction and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for reviewing project specifications, analyzing construction requirements, preparing cost estimates, and supporting proposal development to ensure projects are competitively priced and aligned with company objectives.

    The Estimator works closely with operations, project management, vendors, and leadership to evaluate opportunities, identify risks, and develop pricing strategies aligned with project requirements.

    What You'll Do

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical transmission, distribution, substation, civil, and related utility construction projects.
    • Review and interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, bid documents, contracts, and project requirements.
    • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related costs.
    • Analyze labor productivity, equipment utilization, material pricing, and construction methods to develop accurate estimates.
    • Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
    • Collaborate with Operations and Project Management teams to evaluate project scope, schedules, resources, and execution requirements.
    • Identify potential project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and cost considerations during the estimating process.
    • Assist in preparing bid packages, proposals, pricing summaries, and supporting documentation.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project reviews as required.
    • Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and project pricing records.
    • Support bid reviews and estimate presentations with Estimating leadership.
    • Assist with change order estimates, budget updates, and cost analysis as needed.
    • Coordinate with Procurement and Operations to validate material availability, equipment requirements, and subcontractor pricing.
    • Ensure estimates comply with company standards, customer requirements, and established estimating procedures.
    • Support project handoff meetings to communicate estimate assumptions, scope, and budget considerations to Operations.
    • Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
    • Perform additional estimating and project support duties as assigned.

    What You'll Bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
    • Two or more years of estimating, construction management, project controls, or related construction experience preferred.
    • Experience within electrical utility construction, transmission, distribution, substations, civil construction, or infrastructure projects preferred.
    • Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, labor productivity, and project cost components.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
    • Experience with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and other construction management applications.
    • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet bid deadlines.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Understanding of construction contracts, bid requirements, and project scheduling preferred.
    • Willingness to learn new estimating methods, technologies, and industry best practices.
    • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to frequently use hands and fingers for keyboarding, data entry, and document preparation.
    • Ability to review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, estimates, spreadsheets, and project documentation.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, video conference, and written correspondence.
    • Ability to occasionally lift and carry files, plans, office materials, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites, company offices, customer locations, and pre-bid meetings.
    • Ability to safely navigate construction sites, including uneven terrain, stairs, and outdoor work environments.
    • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting active construction sites.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or extended workdays to meet bid submission deadlines.
    • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
