About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to lead the development of accurate, competitive cost estimates for complex electrical construction projects. This role is instrumental during preconstruction, partnering closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to translate design intent into winning pricing strategies.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills and enjoys mentoring others, improving estimating processes, and contributing to successful project execution from bid through handoff.

- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to define scope and identify risks
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, low‑voltage, and specialty systems
- Develop pricing that accounts for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, contingencies, and overhead
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure best value and compliance
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality or performance
- Assess project risk and incorporate strategic contingencies into estimates
- Prepare and present bids for internal reviews and, when needed, client discussions
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams during preconstruction
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and digital tools
- Support the transition from estimating to operations with clear scope definitions and assumptions
- Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering continuous improvement within the team
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, ideally with an electrical contractor
- Proven experience estimating complex or large‑scale projects
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar platforms
- Experience in design‑build or design‑assist delivery environments
- Familiarity with BIM and digital takeoff tools
- Solid understanding of labor productivity, unit costs, and material pricing trends
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Leadership mindset with a passion for mentoring and team development
