We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing electrical contractor specializing in multifamily, apartment, condominium, townhome, mixed-use, and other multi-unit residential construction projects. This individual will play a key role during preconstruction by developing accurate project estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and supporting successful project execution from bid through award.
Candidates with experience estimating large-scale residential electrical systems, strong blueprint reading skills, and familiarity with modern estimating software are highly encouraged to apply. Experienced electricians looking to transition into estimating will also be considered and provided training.
Responsibilities
Prepare complete electrical estimates for multifamily and residential construction projects
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
Analyze project plans, bid documents, and electrical specifications
Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
Assist with budgeting, conceptual estimating, and value engineering
Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, vendors, and clients throughout preconstruction
Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, and cost databases
Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities
Ensure estimates comply with current NEC standards and project requirements
Support bid submissions and proposal preparation
Qualifications
3+ years of electrical estimating experience
Experience estimating multifamily, apartment, condominium, townhome, or mixed-use residential projects preferred
Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Experience with one or more estimating platforms such as:
Bluebeam Revu
Procore
Sage Estimating
Accubid
Trimble Estimation
ConEst
McCormick
On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
Knowledge of NEC codes and electrical code compliance
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Field electrical experience is highly valued
Journeyman or Master Electrician background is a plus
