Job Title: Electrical Facilities Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Facilities Engineer to lead the development and management of requirements for a new, government-aligned facility. This role is crucial in the early phases of multi-year programs, where you will define technical and operational needs, ensure compliance with government standards, and drive requirements through design, planning, and eventual construction. You will bridge the gap between conceptual facility needs and executable construction plans, ensuring a seamless build once construction begins.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in facility operations, maintenance programs, and real property management.
  • Provide technical recommendations for manufacturing optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver engineering reports, assessments, and presentations.
  • Oversee contractor-executed activities such as planning and design, development, maintenance, and property transition.
  • Evaluate contractor performance against cost, schedule, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Apply project management principles to facility-related projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local real property policies and regulations.
  • Conduct facility inspections, engineering analyses, and operational studies.
  • Identify operational risks and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with client teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience as a Facilities Engineer/Electrical Designer/Electrical Engineer within a GOCO or USG facility.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with government, industrial, and manufacturing facility projects from concept through design and construction.
  • Experience in design calculations with electrical systems.
  • Proven capability in developing, defining, and managing design requirements for new facilities, including Greenfield projects.
  • Experience in engineering consulting or client-facing technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of real property regulations, easements, permitting, and land-use agreements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PE License (MI, OH) is a bonus.
  • Experience in electrical design for buildings.
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer from an A+E firm.
